IPSC RIFLE & SHOTGUN
Rifle & Shotgun Matches

There has been considerable discussion regarding IPSC Rifle and Shotgun Matches. In discussion with the World Organization, we have learned the following:

1. IPSC is very interested in expanding the Rifle and Shotgun areas of the sport. This is in keeping with the general view that "the more lead downrange the better"

2. IPSC has informed us that IPSC Pistol Certification automatically includes certification in both Rifle and Shotgun for IPSC competition. This certainly applies to our Black Badge Program which is the best in the World.

As a result of many questions, we can confirm the following:

a) Clubs throughout Canada are encouraged to hold Shotgun and Rifle matches.
b) Certified IPSC Officials are qualified to officiate these matches.
c) Black Badge holders who are IPSC members are qualified to compete.

IPSC Central will be issuing a short list of instructions for Course Designers and Officials, that will address some of the differences between rifle & shotgun matches and our pistol competitions. This will include an explanation of the divisions involved. For reasons of safety; - All courses of fire should be submitted to the appropriate person(s) in your Section for approval.
